Fun in the sun at Hampton Court

We've had a terrific reception so far - from the party of school children on day one - who stood back, whispering to each other 'It's beautiful' - to the happy customer yesterday (returning for more) - who told us 'It's so lovely and tranquil. The kind of area that absolutely everyone would love to have waiting for them back at home, in their own garden.'

Preview Day at RHS Hampton Court...

'Brian's leadwork and attention to detail is legendary' Andy Marshall, Managing Director, BBC Magazines.

It took our hard-working team of six (plus one very patient forklift driver) three long, hot days to transform the contents of a 40-foot artic into the sedate, calming oasis that is the 'Gardens Illustrated' Show Garden.

The project - to bring to life George Carter's opulent topiary design at the grand entrance to the show's central pavillion - has involved the deployment of 4 tones of shingle, 3 tons of lead (23 custom-made planters and two bespoke fountains), 32 prime topiary & architectural plants, two benches and untold gallons of water (mostly drunk by the crew!)

Turner's at Hampton Court for Gardens Illustrated

The past few days have seen the Turners' team hard at work at Hampton Court...

The trio of Turner's, George Carter and The Romantic Garden Nursery have been commissioned by BBC Gardens Illustrated Magazine to construct an exciting new Topiary Garden, to run the length of their grand Pavillion at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.

The show will run from 6-11th July 2010 with a special press preview evening on Monday 5th July.

'The most impressive was the lead pine cone, a towering 2.3 metres high, and trough made by Brian Turner (master lead craftsman) as part of his Galena collection. The centre piece, which includes the water tanks, fountains and pump, contains three tons of lead.

Brian also makes lead apples with copper leaves, or anything else you could possibly want in lead.'

Turner's work featured in top garden design book

Unique ornamental leadwork pieces from Turner's award winning garden collaborations are set to feature in a new reference work by garden design expert George Carter.

The new book showcases the cream of the capital's secret gardens - commissioned by top clients including writers, sculptors, fashion and interior designers, actors and celebrity hairdressers.

Designs range from minimal roof terraces and surreal spaces to a geometrically abstract topiary garden and an illusionistic stage-set of a garden with shell water features.

These exciting urban gardens - many seen here for the first time - are beautifully captured by the spectacular photography of Marianne Majerus.

Top garden design trio brings home Chelsea Gold to Norfolk.

A collaborative project by leading garden designer George Carter, expert planstmen The Romantic Garden Nursey and ornamental leadwork specialist Brian Turner has won a coveted RHS Gold Medal at this year's Chelsea flower show.

The award - topping the category of Topiary and Architectural Plants - was presented for the team's first joint venture - a structured piece set around an imposing lead obelisk water feature, hand-cast by Turner at his Norfolk workshops.
